COUNTRY ARTISTS MEGAN MULLINS AND TRENT WILLMON
TO PLAY IN BAKER PARK
The Summer Concert Series Committee of Celebrate Frederick, Inc. is proud to announce that Megan Mullins, presented by 99.9 WFRE Free Country, will perform at the Summer Concert Series on Sunday, July 30th at the Baker Park Bandshell. The free performance will begin at 7 p.m. Opening for Megan Mullins is Trent Willmon.
Mullin’s interest in music began at the very young age of 18 months when she started Suzuki violin lessons. Coming from a family who are all professional musicians with a traveling band, Megan began her career at age 3 and first performed at the Grand Ole Opry at age 14 with her brother, Marcus. Over the years, Megan has won many awards, her first being the Indiana State Fair Showmanship Award at the State Fiddle Championship at age 3. Megan is proficient with the violin, mandolin, guitar, piano, bass, clarinet and accordion and her musical genre ranges from country, bluegrass, jazz, swing, Celtic blues and classical. This young up-and-comer will surely bring excitement to the Baker Park Bandshell!
Opening for Megan Mullins is Trent Willmon, whose determination, grit, and outstanding talent landed him a record contract with Sony Music Nashville. Willmon’s debut CD runs the gamut of emotions, varying from the good-time charm of the debut single “Beer Man” to the unflinching pain of the autobiographical “Home Sweet Holiday Inn.” His debut album on Columbia Nashville will release later this year.
Plan to arrive early to enjoy a free Carillon performance in Baker Park beginning at 6 p.m. featuring Ann-Kirstine Christiansen, City Carillonneur from Loegumkloster, Denmark. Great snack foods and drinks will be available from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the Concert Series performance.
While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank. Items will be collected at the new Information Booth located at the top of the bandshell steps in Baker Park. A special thank you to Drees Homes for this generous donation.
In the event of inclement weather, please tune to 99.9 WFRE for news of event cancellation. Due to the travel time and set-up by various artists and the sound production company, decisions regarding weather are made by approx. 4:00 PM. Therefore, if the weather is inclement at this time, listen to the radio for confirmation of the evening’s performance being cancelled.
This year’s programming would not be possible without the generous support of the following corporate sponsors: Spires level sponsors are Bechtel Foundation, CellularOne, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, Spectrum Federal Credit Union and Weis Markets. Carillon level sponsors are Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Roy Rogers-A Plamondon Company, and The Frederick News-Post. Bandshell level sponsors are BB&T and the Frederick Arts Council.
The Summer Concert Series will continue each Sunday evening at 7 p.m. through August 27th. For a complete schedule, to volunteer, or for more information, call 301-600-CITY (2489) or visit www.BakerParkConcerts.com
