FLUMPA AND FRIENDS LIVE! HOPS INTO THE
2006 SUMMERFEST FAMILY THEATRE SERIES

Flumpa and Friends Live!, a Summerfest Family Theatre favorite, is back for their fourth performance in the park on Saturday, July 15th. Celebrate Frederick will present the performance as part of this year’s Summerfest Family Theatre Series. The performance is free to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. The Sportsplex will open the show with a comic demonstration on proper sports techniques.

Prepare to rock with this one-of-a-kind show led by Flumpa the tree frog and Wendy Whitten, ‘The Singing Scientist’. Touring nationwide since 1995, this fast-paced duo has entertained over 2.5 million people with their effortless blend of science, fitness and original, award-winning music. Come ready to travel on a rainbow, cheer on your favorite reptile, swim the vast oceans and hop like a frog! This captivating show will have you exploring the Earth and beyond, all without leaving Baker Park!

While the performances are FREE to the public, the Summerfest Family Theatre Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank. Items will be collected at the new Information Booth donated by Drees Homes, located at the top of the bandshell steps in Baker Park. A special thank you to Drees Homes for this generous donation.

In the event of inclement weather, please tune to 99.9 WFRE or 103.1 WAFY for news of event cancellation. Due to the travel time and set-up by various artists and the sound production company, decisions regarding weather are made by 4:00 PM. Therefore, if the weather is inclement at this time, listen to the radio for confirmation of the evening’s performance being cancelled.
