UPDATE ON AUTOMATED TRASH PROGRAM AND REVISIONS TO TRASH COLLECTION DATES
Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick has delivered 60% of the 4,000 new carts being delivered to single family homes in: Amber Meadows; Clover Ridge; College Estates; E. Patrick St. area (King Ave., Davis Ave., Key Ave., Monroe Ave., Highland St., E. Patrick St., Franklin St., Hamilton Ave., Pennsylvania Ave., Virginia Ave., Maryland Ave.); portions of Hillcrest; Emerald Farms; Golfview; Lake Coventry; Monarch Ridge; Monocacy Meadows; Monocacy Village; Old Farm; Overlook; Rivercrest; Rock Creek Estates; Stonegate Farms; Taskers Chance; Villa Estates; Walnut Ridge; Warfield; Waverley View; Whittier (W. Greenleaf Drive area not currently being served); Willowcrest; and Winters Run.
Residents are asked to continue placing trash outside as they typically have been UNTIL receipt of the cart. Once a resident has received the cart they should begin using it immediately. It is anticipated that all carts will be delivered by Friday, January 13, 2006.
Also, to increase the efficiency of operations and in conjunction with the implementation of automated trash collection, effective January 1, 2006, the City of Frederick made some changes to trash collection schedules. Homes affected by these changes were notified in mid-December.
1) Residences in College Estates; Emerald Farms; portions of Hillcrest; Golfview; Monarch Ridge; portions of Overlook; and Villa Estates will have trash collection times changed to: set out trash after 5 p.m. on Sunday nights for Monday midnight to 8 a.m. collection and set out trash after 5 p.m. on Wednesday nights for Thursday midnight to 8 a.m. collection.
2) Residences in the Townhome and Condominium sections in: a) Dearbought; b) Fredericktowne Village (Dockside Drive; Talbots, Sections 1 & 2; Riverwalk; St. Lawrence Court; Turning Point Court; Camelia Court; and Beverly Court); and c) the Main Farm will have trash collection times changed to: set out trash after 5 p.m. on Monday nights for Tuesday midnight to 8 a.m. collection and set out trash after 5 p.m. on Thursday nights for Friday midnight to 8 a.m. collection.
3) Residents in all other areas: No change to current collection schedules.
