KRIS KRINGLE TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE AT FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
The Festival of Lights will bring holiday cheer to the courtyard of City Hall on Friday, December 15th as groups of carolers sing their way through Frederick’s historic district. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. at various locations throughout downtown Frederick. Carolers will make their way to the courtyard of City Hall, located at 101 North Court Street, for a brief closing ceremony at 7 p.m. This year’s closing ceremony will include a special guest straight from the North Pole, none other than Kris Kringle himself! Joining Kris Kringle will be Reverend Doctor Joseph Foster, Senior Pastor at Grace United Church of Christ. Reverend Foster will share an inspirational message as part of a larger program featuring classic holiday carols. Participants from the Kris Kringle Procession have been invited to showcase their Procession attire!
During the ceremony, each participant will be given a candle and song sheet. Don’t miss the finale, as one candle is lit, then passed through the crowd until the entire courtyard is filled with light. A perfect way to celebrate the season!
If you would like to join one of the caroling groups, contact The Office of Special Events at 301-228-2841.
