TEMPORARY BYPASS PIPING ALONG JEFFERSON STREET PART OF WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue the installation of temporary bypass piping along Jefferson Street, from Prospect Blvd. to West Patrick Street, during the week of May 1 - 5. This work will be limited to Phase 1 of the project which is between Prospect Blvd. and Catoctin Ave. The bypass piping will provide water service to the properties within the work area. This work is in preparation of the water main replacement that will follow over the next 8 to ten months. Construction activity will be seen on Jefferson Street, between Prospect Blvd. and West Patrick St., through November 2006.
IMPACT TO AREA:
Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on the street being worked on.
Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
