RED CROSS OPENS NEW SITE TO ASSIST HURRICANE KATRINA DISASTER VICTIMS
FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Chapter of the American Red Cross in cooperation with the Frederick County Emergency Management Office announced today the opening of a new Service Delivery Site to supplement Hurricane Katrina relief efforts currently underway at their headquarters in Walkersville, Maryland.
The new site is located at 1207 East Street at the former Frederick Underwriter's headquarters and will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., seven days a week, until further notice.
The purpose of the new site is for individuals and families to meet with Red Cross caseworkers to identify the immediate emergency needs that the American Red Cross can meet. Additionally, referrals and information about assistance available through other agencies in Frederick County will be available.
Only client casework will be conducted at this site. Those seeking Red Cross assistance are asked to call 301-662-5131 to make an appointment.
