HELPING THE VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA WHO HAVE RELOCATED TO OUR COMMUNITY
Frederick, Md. ---- The City of Frederick is seeking the help and generosity of our residents to assist in the relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina who have been and will continue to be relocated into our community. This weekend, from 3 - 5 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, the City will host three collection sites around the City in an effort to collect clothing, personal hygiene items, and non-perishable foods. Once collected the City has partnered with Goodwill Industries’ CARE program to assist in the sorting and distribution of the clothing to those in need. Personal hygiene items and non-perishable food distribution will be coordinated through the Frederick Community Action Agency. The drops off sites are: Baker Park Band Shell, Fredericktowne Mall (Boscov's Court), and Harry Grove Stadium.
