Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market This Friday

The City of Frederick’s Department of Economic Development once again presents the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market this Friday September 9th from 5:00-8:00pm. Held in the street on Carroll Street between Patrick and All Saints, this new market is not an ordinary farmers’ market. This Home Grown Here event features locally grown fruits, vegetables, organic produce, fresh cut flowers and baked goods from some of the best names in Frederick County agriculture.

The last market of the season promises to be the best. In addition to local produce, the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market will offer live music, art and activities. Stop by for a sandwich from Downtime Café, have a slice of pie for dessert, and enjoy live bluegrass music. Art offerings include hand-painted tile coasters, local landscapes and pottery, and local black and white photography. The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, located on Carroll Street, will stay open late offering access to their gallery of fine arts. In the event of rain, the Delaplaine will also serve as the indoor location of the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market. Not just a farmers’ market, this is an event for the whole family.

According to Heather Galbraith, economic development specialist and market manager “August was HOT. September will be better, and it’s the last chance of the season to enjoy the event atmosphere of this unique Frederick farmers’ market.”

The Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market will be held in conjunction with Late Night in downtown Frederick, when downtown stores stay open till 9PM for fun and shopping.

Brought to you by the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development and the generosity of our sponsors: Mid Atlantic Farm Credit, the Frederick News-Post, Frederick County Bank, Yaneth Reyes - Creator of Fine Jewelry, Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Downtown Frederick Partnership and the Tourism Council of Frederick County.
