Call For Art Entries

Calling all artists! Celebrate Frederick Inc. is looking for entries for this year’s annual Holiday Art Competition sponsored by the Holiday Committee of Historic Frederick. This year’s theme is “The Holidays in Historic Frederick”. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize, and the artwork will be used for the 2006 Winter Holiday Promotional Package.
The deadline to submit your entry form is Friday, October 29th, and there is a $10 entry fee. Entry forms are available online at www.celebratefrederick.com or by calling The City of Frederick’s Office of Special Events at 301-228-2844. The artwork may be dropped off at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center, located at 40 S. Carroll Street in Frederick, on Sunday, November 27th or Monday, November 28th.
The winner will be announced during an opening reception at the Delaplaine on November 30th. All entries will be on display at the Delaplaine between November 30th and December 23rd. This year’s judges include Robin Jones, owner of Robin Jones Consulting, Dan Patrell, publisher of Maryland Life magazine, and Richard Schlecht, artist/illustrator for National Geographic magazine.
