GAS LEAK AFFECTING WEST SOUTH STREET

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised of that the 100 block of West South Street has been evacuated due to a gas main leak. Earlier today crews from the City of Frederick’s Water Department accidentally damaged a gas line while performing an upgrade to an exiting water main. City Police, as well as fire and rescue, are on the scene. The gas company is also on site and has shut off the gas. Travelers are asked to seek alternate routes and avoid the area surrounding West South Street. Thank you for your cooperation!
