WORK BEGINS ON SCHIFFERSTADT BLVD. RAW WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN - PHASE 1

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will be performing construction stakeout, test pits and initial pipe placement for the proposed raw water main along Schifferstadt Blvd. and within Fredericktowne Village Park. Most of the construction activities from March 7, 2005 through March 11, 2005 within Fredericktowne Village Park on the north side of Schiffferstadt Blvd. During this time, survey crews will perform the necessary stakeout for the proposed raw water line and Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. crews will be begin performing test pits and start excavating/placing the new raw water main piping. Construction activity will be seen on Schifferstadt Blvd. and within Fredericktowne Village Park through June 2005.

The following impact will be felt in the area:
1. Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

2. As work progresses, please use caution in areas that have been stabilized and restored. Please do not walk or drive across areas that have been stabilized and restored with seed and straw as they may be wet or soft and hard to navigate until grass has been reestablished in these areas.

3. During normal working operations, residents should anticipate normal construction equipment noise levels from backhoes, dump trucks, compaction equipment, etc.
4. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the work area, during or after working hours. Areas that have been marked or enclosed with orange safety fence, or traffic cones indicate a potential hazard. Please stay clear of these areas.
