COURT STREET ROAD WORK CONTINUES (Revised 3/30)

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will finish the excavation/placement of the new water main on Court St. from W. Patrick St. to Carroll Creek. The work scheduled between March 28, 2005 and April 1, 2005 will include water service installations and permanent trench repairs. Permanent trench repairs will start at the intersection of W. Patrick St. and continue south on Court St. On March 31st and April 1st, trench-paving operations will require the closure of Court Street, from W. Patrick St. south to the parking deck entrance. Full access to the parking deck will be available to traffic heading north on Court St. from All Saints St. Traffic attempting to enter the parking deck from W. Patrick St. should simply continue on W. Patrick St. to Bentz St., turn left onto Bentz St. and follow to All Saints St., turn left onto All Saints St. and follow to Court St., turn left onto Court St. and follow to the parking deck entrance. All through traffic heading north on Court St. from All Saints St. will be routed onto Citizen’s Way to Market St., to W. Patrick St. to Court St. Construction activity will be seen on Court St., between W. Patrick St. and Carroll Creek, through the end of March 2005.
The following impact will be felt in the area:
1. Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7 a.m. 8 p.m.
2. Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on Court St. between W. Patrick St. and All Saints St. The intended detour route for traffic will be W. Patrick St. to Bentz St. to All Saints St. and back to Court St.
3. During night work operations, residents should anticipate normal, construction equipment noise levels from backhoes, dump trucks, compaction equipment, etc. (approximately 8 hours per night).
4. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
