Deanna Bogart and The Cool Jerks team up for Celebrate Frederick fun-raiser

Two of our region’s favorite bands will take the stage at the Weinberg Center for the Arts to help raise money for a great local organization. Boogie and blues group the Deanna Bogart band, and Frederick’s own R&B group the Cool Jerks will play at the fun-raiser for Celebrate Frederick. That’s the non-profit organization that produces such great events as Summer Concert Series, and IN THE STREET. The show will be held Saturday, April 2nd at 8 p.m.
Deanna Bogart was recently named blues vocalist of the year, and her group named best blues group of the year by the Washington Area Music Association. That’s nothing new for Bogart; she and her group have won more than 20 WAMMIES. If you’ve seen Bogart before you know she always puts on a great show. If you haven’t seen her, come find out why such music legends as Ray Charles and BB King asked her to join them on stage.
A favorite on the local music scene, The Cool Jerks are Frederick’s own high energy R&B band. Together for more than 20 years, the group has played venues all over the area, including Summer Concert Series in Baker Park.
