Local Logo Competition Garners International Attention
Celebrate Frederick Inc. is pleased to announce it received an overwhelming response to its recent logo competition. The group received 62 entries, not only from our region, but also several from the country of Denmark. The competition was held to provide the non-profit organization with a new look.
“For me, the large number of designs speaks volumes about the love, pride and commitment that exists in this community for Frederick. As a designer myself, I was really impressed with the quality level of all the entries,” said John Connors, Celebrate Frederick President.
“The passion people feel about the events we produce was evident in the number and quality of logos submitted. It was refreshing to see so many interpretations of who we are and I can honestly say that most really grasped what we do and illustrated our impact on the quality of life in Frederick, “ said Jennifer Grove, board and selection committee member.
The winner will be unveiled at Celebrate Frederick’s fun-raiser on Saturday, April 2nd at the Weinberg Center for the Arts, starring Deanna Bogart and the Cool Jerks. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, and the logo will be used on all promotional materials the organization uses.
Celebrate Frederick is the new name for the organization that works with the City of Frederick’s Office of Special Events to create 13 events in our area each year. The line-up includes: Beyond the Garden Gates Garden Tour, Summer Nite Cinema, Baker Park’s Summer Concert Series, Frederick’s July 4th celebration, Summerfest Family Theatre, IN THE STREET, and seven holiday events, including the Candlelight House Tour and the Kris Kringle Procession. Many of these are repeatedly voted best local annual events by Frederick Magazine readers.
