New Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market Opens July 8th

The City of Frederick’s Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce a new farmers’ market in Downtown Frederick. The Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market will be held three times over the summer on July 8, August 12 and September 9 from 5:00-8:00pm. Held in the street on Carroll Street between Patrick and All Saints, this new market is not your ordinary farmers’ market. This Home Grown Here event features locally grown fruits, vegetables, organic produce, fresh cut flowers and baked goods from some of the best names in Frederick County agriculture.

In addition to local produce, the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market will offer live music, art and activities. The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, located on Carroll Street, will stay open late offering access to their gallery of fine arts. In the event of rain, the Delaplaine will also serve as the indoor location of the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market. Not just a farmers’ market, this is an event for the whole family.

According to Heather Galbraith, economic development specialist and market manager “The Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market is a great opportunity to blend Frederick’s hub of art and culture with the agricultural core that surrounds the City.”

The Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market will be held in conjunction with Late Night in downtown Frederick, when downtown stores stay open till 9PM for fun and shopping. Parking for the Downtown Frederick Farmers’ Market is close and convenient in the parking lot adjacent to Carroll Street, accessible from Carroll Street at the Delaplaine.

Brought to you by the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development and the generosity of our sponsors: Mid Atlantic Farm Credit, the Frederick News-Post, Frederick County Bank, Yaneth Reyes – Creator of Fine Jewelry, Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Downtown Frederick Partnership and the Tourism Council of Frederick County.
