COPPER SULFATE BEING ADDED TO LAKE LINGANORE AND FISHING CREEK RESERVOIR

Frederick, Md. --- Please note that the City of Frederick will be applying copper sulfate to Lake Linganore and Fishing Creek Reservoir on Thursday, June 16, in order to treat for taste and odor causing algae. The work will take place at Lake Linganore from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., and at the Fishing Creek Reservoir from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Both the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and the Lake Linganore Association have been contacted and are aware of this work. There should not be any impact to the public or livestock in relation to the small dosage being applied.
