CAREY ZIEGLER’S EXPENSIVE HOBBY SET TO ROCK BAKER PARK
Voted one of Baltimore’s Best Bands for the past five years, rock variety band Carey Ziegler’s Expensive Hobby will bring its high-energy show to Baker Park on Sunday, July 17th. Celebrate Frederick Inc. will present the free concert as part of this year’s Summer Concert Series. The performance is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Featuring a killer horn section, Carey Ziegler’s Expensive Hobby is a Summer Concert Series favorite that plays everything from Steely Dan to Chicago to the Beatles. All of the band members have impressive individual credentials, including work with such artists as Scott Ambush of Spyro Gyra, Stevie Wonder, and The Rolling Stones. Together the band has played extensively throughout the Baltimore/D.C. area and has self-produced two CDs of highly acclaimed original material, including a song that was recorded in Baker Park in 2001.
Plan to arrive early to enjoy a free Carillon concert beginning at 6 p.m. featuring carillonneur Anne Kroeze. Anne is the City Carillonneur in Emmeloord, Leeuwarden and Epe in the Netherlands. He has won awards at several carillon competitions, including first prizes at the 2000 International Carillon Competition in Springfield, Illinois and the 2001 carillon competition at Winterswijk in The Netherlands.
This year’s 2005 Summer Concert Series is a sub-committee of Celebrate Frederick Inc. and would not be possible without the generous support of the following corporate sponsors. The Gold Sponsors are Bechtel Foundation, Cellular One, Chase Credit Card Services, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank and Weis Markets. The Silver Sponsors are Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, The Frederick News-Post, and Spectrum Federal Credit Union.
