U.S. ARMY BAND TO GIVE SPECIAL PATRIOTIC PERFORMANCE IN
BAKER PARK

The U.S. Army’s premier musicians will make their only trip to Frederick this summer on Tuesday, July 12th to perform patriotic favorites in Baker Park. Celebrate Frederick Inc. will present The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” as part of this year’s Summer Concert Series. The free performance will begin at 7 p.m.

With an international reputation for extraordinary musicianship, The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” has been the premier musical organization of the U.S. Army since 1922. The 65-piece concert band renders musical honors on a regular basis for heads of state, diplomats, high-ranking military officers, and recently participated in the state funeral of former President Ronald Reagan. Captain Derrick N. Shaw, an Associate Conductor and Director of The U.S. Army Ceremonial Band, will conduct Tuesday’s performance. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Weinberg Center for the Arts, 20 West Patrick Street. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 1,000 tickets will be available.
