MADISON AND CENTER STREETS IMPACTED BY WATER DISTRIBUTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that during the week of August 1 - 5, Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc., will continue the water service installations on Madison Street and Center Street. On Wednesday, August 3, 2005, crews will be working in the intersection of Center and Madison Streets in order to perform a tie-in to the existing water system, allowing the removal of a portion of the bypass piping. This tie-in will require a water main shut down in this area between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Construction activity will be seen on Burck Street, between South Street and Madison Street; on Madison Street, between Burck Street and Center Street; and on Center Street, between Madison Street and South Street; through November 2005.
Please note the impact to the affected area:
1. Traffic control devices, such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards, will be used to limit traffic to one lane, during the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
2. Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on the street being worked on.
3. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
We apologize for any inconvenience this street work may have on you. Thank you for your cooperation!
