THE BONEDADDY BAND BRINGS THE BLUES TO BAKER PARK

Where can you find the Blues Brothers, Delbert McClinton, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton on one stage? At Frederick’s Baker Park bandshell on Sunday, July 31st, when the Bonedaddy Band and vocalist Justine Hall play Summer Concert Series. Celebrate Frederick Inc. will present the free concert at 7 p.m.
During its decade-long history, The Bonedaddy Band has built an incredible reputation as one of the area’s premier R&B bands. With ten members, including four playing the horns, the band delivers a big sound, whether playing the blues, Motown, swing or other classics. You may recognize the band members - all of them are from the Frederick-Hagerstown area.
Plan to arrive early to enjoy guest carillonneur Julia Littleton. Julia is a freelance writer in northern Virginia. She discovered the carillon as a college student at the University of Chicago, and became a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 2000. She has played in Chicago, New York, Denver and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission to each performance. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank.

The 2005 Summer Concert Series is a sub-committee of Celebrate Frederick, which is supported financially by the following community-minded businesses: Gold Sponsors - Bechtel Foundation, Chase Credit Card Services, Cellular One, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, and Weis Markets; Silver Sponsors - Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, Frederick News-Post and Spectrum Federal Credit Union; Bronze Sponsors - BB&T, CitiMortgage and the Frederick Arts Council.
