CITY OF FREDERICK CHANGES SUMMER BULK TRASH COLLECTION PROCESS AND EXTENDS DATES

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is pleased to announce a change in the process and extended dates for the bi-annual bulk trash collection. The bulk collection has been divided into two areas:

AREA 1 : Includes all areas of town EAST of Rt. 15. All items in Area 1 must be set out by Tuesday, August 2, 2005. Pick up will take place from Wednesday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 6th.

AREA 2 : Includes all areas of town WEST of Rt. 15. All items in Area 2 must have all items set out by Tuesday, August 9, 2005. Pick up will take place from Wednesday, August 10th through Saturday, August 13th.

Acceptable materials include televisions and electronic equipment, steel pipe, furniture, appliances, brush and small amounts of building materials from home repairs.

Unacceptable materials consist of household hazardous wastes such as paint, pesticides, solvents, used motor oil, tires and batteries. Building materials left by a private contractor and metal fence posts with concrete attached are also unacceptable. Materials not eligible for the City’s bulk trash pick-up can be disposed at the Frederick County Landfill. Information on the landfill can be obtained by calling 301-600-1848.
