JAH WORKS RETURNS TO SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Frederick’s favorite reggae band Jah Works will transport the Baker Park bandshell to the islands on Sunday, July 10th. Celebrate Frederick Inc. will present the group as part of this year’s Summer Concert Series. The free concert begins at 7 p.m.
Jah Works’ unique reggae sound makes them a favorite in our area. The band played in the 2003 Summer Concert Series, IN THE STREET last year, and has recently returned from an international tour. The music sweeps you from mid-Maryland to Jamaica in a heartbeat.
Plan to arrive early to enjoy guest Carillonneur Lawrence Robinson. He is the City Carillonneur for Richmond, Virginia at the War Memorial Carillon in Byrd Park, where he has played since 1960. He is also Organist\Choir Director at Leigh Street Baptist Church and is Emeritus Faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University.
While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission to each performance. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank.
