Fort Detrick to open Business Development Office

Fort Detrick awarded a $2.2 million contract on January 5, 2005 to Data Solutions & Technology Incorporated from Lanham, Md. to manage a newly created Business Development Office that will provide a myriad of contracting needs and easier access to industry.The Business Development Office will be located in the Frederick community within one mile of the Fort Detrick Visitors Gate and will provide a "one-stop" information source to industry and business entrepreneurs. Some of these services include providing information on obtaining a government contract, medical research grants, market research, industry and government training, while also emerging as the local coordination hub between Fort Detrick and the future business interest among local industry, academia, city and county officials, and the State of Maryland.The new office is expected to be open for business in the early to mid-February timeframe.
