SUMMERFEST FAMILY THEATRE SERIES TO END WITH CARNIVAL

Summer is carnival season, and Summerfest Family Theatre will hold a carnival of its own in Frederick’s Baker Park on Saturday, August 27th. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., and will be followed by a tribute to legendary children’s author Dr. Seuss in the bandshell.
This year’s carnival promises to be bigger and better than ever! Kids will be able to climb through Camelot’s castle, make it through the Survivor Junior obstacle course, ride a pony, or get their faces painted. Radio stations BIG 100.3, and WASH-FM will be on hand with music, crafts, games, great prizes, a moon bounce and even karaoke for aspiring singers!
Make sure you stay for Simply Shonna’s entertaining tribute to Dr. Seuss at 7 p.m. Shonna combines magic tricks, tongue twisters and silly rhymes to captivate the audience, while teaching the love of learning at the same time.
The 2005 Summerfest Family Theatre Committee is a sub-committee of Celebrate Frederick Inc., which is supported financially by the following community-minded businesses: Gold Sponsors - Bechtel Foundation, Cellular One, Chase Credit Card Services, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank and Weis Markets; Silver Sponsors - Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, The Frederick News Post and Spectrum Federal Credit Union; Bronze Sponsors - BB&T, CitiMortgage and the Frederick Arts Council.
