COIN OR CARD…CITY PARKING TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS USER TO CHOOSE

Frederick, Md. --- Parking in downtown Frederick is a bit easier when you purchase a parking meter debit card. No longer do you have to carry around a pocket full of change! For over a year the City of Frederick’s Parking Department has been issuing parking meter debit cards for use in the City’s electronic meters. The debit card allows a person to prepay for the meter by having an allocated amount of time encoded on a card. Cardholders control how much money is applied with each swipe! The parking meter debit cards can be purchased through the City’s Parking Department in increments of $10.00, ranging from $10.00 to $50.00. When the time on the debit card is exhausted, the cardholder can recharge approximately 60 times before a new card needs to be issues.
