SUMMER NITE CINEMA TO FEATURE “THE WIZARD OF OZ”

Follow the yellow brick road to Frederick’s Baker Park on Saturday, September 17th as Summer Nite Cinema presents the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz”. The free showing of this G-rated film will begin at approximately 8 p.m.
In lieu of admission, Celebrate Frederick Inc., the nonprofit organization behind Summer Nite Cinema, will collect school supplies for Frederick County Public Schools. Donations of the following items would be appreciated: wide-ruled one-subject spiral notebooks, wide-ruled composition books, scissors, glue sticks, wide-ruled loose-leaf paper, crayons, colored pencils, tissues, pocket folders, plastic supply boxes, book bags, pencils, highlighters, and erasers. Items may be dropped off at the information table near the bandshell between 6 and 8 p.m.
“The Wizard of Oz” will be shown in the grassy area of the park near the baseball diamonds. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and your favorite sweatshirt - it can get chilly at night. Food vendors will be available.
The rain date for the event is Saturday, September 24th.
