NATIONAL COUNTRY ARTISTS LILA MCCANN AND
GLENN CUMMINGS TO PLAY BAKER PARK
Platinum-selling country artist Lila McCann and up-and-coming country artist Glenn Cummings will perform in Baker Park on Sunday, August 14th. Celebrate Frederick and WFRE will present the free concert as part of this year’s Summer Concert Series. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.
Now putting the finishing touches on her fourth CD for Broken Bow Records, Lila McCann has toured with George Strait, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Lee Ann Womack. Her total album sales have exceeded 1.5 million units and she has been featured on national television programs such as “Regis and Kathie Lee” and “Good Morning, America.” Named “Most Successful New Artist” in 1997 by Time magazine, Lila’s single, “With You,” became a number one video on CMT. Her strong vocals and growth as an artist has garnered her countless devoted fans throughout the nation.
Opening for Lila McCann will be Gulf Coast Records country artist Glenn Cummings. Glenn Cummings has been earning a living as a performer since the age of seven. He has shared the stage with several national acts, including Montgomery Gentry, Charlie Daniels, and Aaron Tippin, and recently performed at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. He is currently supporting his debut album, Big, which has been featured on the GAC country music television station.
Plan to arrive early to enjoy a free carillon performance in Baker Park by Claire Moblard at 6 p.m. Claire is the music director/organist at the Zion United Church of Christ in Hagerstown and has studied with Frederick City Carillonneur John Widmann.
