WATER DISTRIBUTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IMPACT BURCK, MADISON, AND CENTER STREETS

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will be installing temporary bypass piping along Burck, Madison and Center Streets in preparation for the water main replacement that will follow over the next three months. The bypass piping will provide water service to the properties within the work area. Starting on April 11, 2005, construction activity will be seen on Burck Street between South and Madison Streets; on Madison Street, between Burck and Center Streets; and on Center Street, between Madison and South Streets; through November 2005.

The following impacts may be seen throughout the work areas:

1. Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
2. Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on the street being worked on.
3. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
