East Church Street Reconstruction Project Update
Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is reconstructing East Church Street.
This past week the last of the sewer work was completed for the section between Market and Carroll, including the last lateral and removal of an old manhole. The City started laying the water main.

The future week will be the continuing of installation of the water main. Starting Monday, September 27th, Frederick County will be replacing the roof at 117 East Church Street. This project is required before winter, to repair storm damage. During this project, the sidewalk will be essentially closed, because they will have a lift and supplies on the sidewalk. The City will keep the sidewalk on the south side as clear as possible, but pedestrian access will be impeded.

In the near future, approximately the week after next, the City will start installing water house connections. This will require individual short duration shut-offs, when they disconnect your current service and connect to the new main. Some night work will take place, as the Winchester Hall shutdown/connection must be done when the building is empty.
