SUMMER NITE CINEMA TO COLLECT SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR THE
CITY OF FREDERICK’S PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Summer Nite Cinema, a free outdoor movie planned for September 11th in Frederick’s Baker Park, will collect school supplies to benefit Frederick City Public Schools. In lieu of admission to the movie, The City of Frederick’s Office of Special Events is requesting donations of the following: pencils, wide-ruled one-subject spiral notebooks, wide-ruled composition books, plastic pencil boxes, scissors, glue sticks, wide-ruled loose-leaf paper, crayons, colored pencils, tissues, pocket folders, plastic supply boxes, book bags, pencils, highlighters, dividers and erasers. Donations can be dropped off at the Information Table between 6 and 8 PM.
“E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”, rated PG, will be shown on the big screen at 8pm in the grassy field near the carillon in Baker Park. Grab your whole family, blankets or lawn chairs, and come as early as 6pm to get a great seat and enjoy delicious food. Shine-up the old 1980’s thinking cap and participate in trivia contests courtesy of KEY 103.1 radio and win some great prizes! And, don’t forget your favorite cozy sweatshirt, the evening air may get a little chilly.
If you missed the first showing of Summer Nite Cinema in June which featured the movie “Grease,” here are some things you want to know about this really cool movie screen - it’s inflatable, children may mistake it for a moon bounce, and its size is 15’ x 20’!
This event would not be possible without the generous support of the following sponsors: The City of Frederick, Adelphia, American Express Financial Advisors, Coca-Cola, KEY 103.1 and The Frederick News-Post.
Please mark your calendar - a rain date for the event has been set for Saturday, September 25th. For more information, please call The City of Frederick Office of Special Events at 301-600-CITY (2489) or visit www.SummerNiteCinema.com <http://www.SummerNiteCinema.com>
