West Patrick Street Construction Update

Frederick, Md. --- Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue installation of the new 16” water main in West Patrick Street. Most of the piping being installed on this week will require a traffic detour due to the limited amount of space available for safely maintaining a lane of traffic through the work area. They are planning to have a temporary traffic detour in place through Friday. During this time, they will be filling and testing the water main that has been installed to this point and continue installing pipe in the Court Street intersection. Water service line replacements will also start at the end of the week. Mid-Atlantic is anticipating that some of the work within the Court Street intersection will be completed at night (approx. 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). The work associated with this new water main will continue for the next two months. Construction activity will be seen on West Patrick Street, between Court Street and Bentz Street, through the end of November 2004.
