Schifferstadt Boulevard Raw Water Transmission Main Work To Begin
Frederick, Md. ---The City of Frederick will have contractors conduct soil borings and test pits along the route of the proposed Schifferstadt Boulevard Raw Water Transmission Main. The route of the raw water main starts at the City's Monocacy Water Treatment Plant on Market Street running parallel to the Monocacy River and parallel to Detrick Branch, then crossing Detrick Branch onto Odd Fellows property and south to Schifferstadt Boulevard, crossing Schifferstadt Boulevard, then following the west side of Schifferstadt Boulevard to Riverwalk Park. Next week, City surveyors will be staking out approximately 30 test boring holes and 10 test pits along the route of the proposed raw water main. For two weeks after stakeout is complete, Triad Engineering will drill soil boring holes and KCI will drill test pit holes. All holes drilled will be approximately 4 inches in diameter and all will be restored to previous conditions.
