East Church Street Reconstruction Project Update

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is reconstructing East Church Street.
This past week little work was done. The special ordered tapping sleeve to connect the new water main was the wrong size, a new one was located.

This coming week work on the water main should resume today, Monday, October 18. This week, work will likely consist of installing the tapping sleeve, tapping, charging, sanitizing and testing the pipe. Installation of house connections will begin when bacteriological tests of the pipe come back clean.

The DPW Tree Crew will began removing trees in the 200 block of E Church St. on Oct 19 to Oct 21. The plan is to begin removing the trees and stumps from opposite of 200 to 218. The traffic pattern will be down to single lane. Expect some temporary delays and closures.
