City of Frederick DED’s Annual Fall Business Forum:

An Economic Look At Retailing

The 2004 Business Forum: An Economic Look At Retailing will be held Wednesday December 8 th from 8:30am-11:30 am at the Frederick Community College Jack B. Kussmaul Theater. This event is not to be missed! As the holiday season approaches, here from world-class speaker Rick Segel on the trends and economic impact of retailing. The event is hosted by the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development (DED) and the Maryland Downtown Development Association (MDDA).

Mr. Segel is a seasoned independent retailer of 25 years with a wealth of knowledge for both independent merchants and corporate chains. In addition to his experience as an independent women’s fashion merchant, Mr. Segel is now the marketing expert for Staples.com. With clients ranging from the Iowa Main Street program to Microsoft, Mr. Segel has words of wisdom for everyone!

Following Mr. Segel’s keynote speech will be a panel of local retailers. Moderated by Mr. Segel, the panel will discuss the trends and changes in the Frederick retailing sector, adding local insight to Mr. Segel’s national and international expertise.
