CARROLL CREEK PARK FUNDING MOVES FORWARD
Frederick,
Md. --- The City of Frederick is pleased to announce
that on Wednesday, May 19th, the State of Maryland
Board of Public Works (Gov. Robert Ehrlich, Comptroller
Donald Schaefer and Treasure Kopp) approved the purchase
requests for the Carroll Creek Park Project. These
grant funds will pay for more than $737,000 in materials
for the construction of the park improvements and
for more than $731,000 in design costs. The City has
already been reimbursed $109,000 in design costs earlier
this year.
This
grant allocation is part of the 1987 Carroll Creek
grant, which had $1.5 million remaining. According
to our state contact Paul Georgiou, all funds in this
grant are fully encumbered at this time and we will
now move forward to seek reimbursement as the funds
are expended.
Mayor
Dougherty would like to express thanks to all involved
in this process including: Richard Griffin, Vincent
Hughes, Jon Angel, John Leisenring, Chuck Ramsburg,
Kandi Fullerton and Jim Twigg for their hard work
on the project.
