CITY OF FREDERICK MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN PROPOSED FY05 BUDGET WORKSHOP SCHEDULE RELEASED

Frederick, Md. ---- City of Frederick Mayor Jennifer P. Dougherty and the Board of Aldermen will begin hearing FY05 budget presentations from city departments on Wednesday, March 17, at the 2 p.m. Workshop. The FY05 Proposed budget reflects the difficult economic times that the City is facing.

Please note the following schedule of FY05 Budget Workshop topics:

April 7 2 p.m. Department of Finance

April 14 2 p.m. Citizen Services Departments including; Frederick
Community Action Agency and Office of Special Events.

April 21 2 p.m. Citizen Services Departments including; Department of
Recreation, Weinberg Center for the Arts, and the Department of Economic Development

April 28 2 p.m. Engineering/Permits and Inspections Department
Department of Planning, including Community
Development, and the Frederick Municipal
Airport

May 5 7 p.m. FY05 Budget review: General Fund, Utilities, Police,
Mayor's Office, Legal, Finance, Citizen Services, and Community Promotions.

May 12 7 p.m. FY05 Budget review: Public Works, Planning, Community
Development, Airport, Engineering, Building/Permits/Inspections, and Surveying.

May 20 7 p.m. Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting for the
FY05 Budget and Tax Rate Adoption

All Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshops take place on Wednesday, in the City Hall Board Room. Note that there will be two evening Workshops to allow additional public comment and participation.

All City of Frederick Workshops and Public Meetings are televised LIVE on Channel 99.

Public comment is welcome and encouraged at each Workshop.
