AMBER
MEADOWS ROAD WORK
Frederick,
Md. --- The City of Frederick’s Department of Public
Works will be crack sealing the roadways in the Amber
Meadows area as a routine preventative maintenance procedure.
This commonly used technique extends the life of the
pavement by three to five years depending on the severity
of the pavement distress. This is significantly less
expensive than repaving a street. Work will take place
approximately June 28 - July 9, weather permitting.
In
order for the City to complete this work, the road surface
needs to be cooler than 85 degrees, clean and dry. As
a result the City will have a crew blowing out the cracks
in advance of the actual sealing. Local traffic will
be allowed and disruptions will be minimal.
