4TH
OF JULY SHUTTLE SERVICE PLAN FOR FREDERICK MINISTERIAL
ASSOCIATION
Frederick,
Md. --- The City of Frederick and the Frederick Ministerial
Association have partnered and created a Shuttle Service
Plan to transport parishioners of downtown churches
on Sunday, July 4th. This effort is to provide convenient
access during the set-up for The Fredericks 4th
celebration that requires restricted parking surrounding
Baker Park and the Downtown vicinity during the morning
hours.
The
free shuttle service will start at the downtown express
parking lot located at Harry Grove Stadium and make
one stop at Bentz Street Memorial Grounds (located at
the corner of Bentz Street and 2nd Street). The shuttle
will then return to Harry Grove Stadium.
The
Shuttle will commence at 6:30 a.m., with the final return
shuttle departing Bentz Street Memorial Grounds at 1:40
p.m. The Shuttle bus has a 15- person capacity. The
loop is anticipated to taker approximately 10 minutes.
"The
City listened to concerns raised recently about special
events that are held on Sundays and the special challenges
they create, and we are taking the necessary steps to
partner with the downtown churches to mitigate those
concerns, stated Vincent Hughes, chief operating
officer for the City.
The
Shuttle service was identified by the Ministerial Association
and the City as a priority to ensure that religious
services are not disrupted by the Frederick's 4th celebration.

additional information, please contact Susan Whiting,
City of Frederick special events coordinator, at 301-228-2841.
