RE: Frederick's 4th of July Celebration

BJ THOMAS TO HEADLINE FREDERICK’S 4th - AN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Come celebrate our nation’s independence at this year’s Frederick’s 4th - An Independence Day Celebration in Baker Park with this year’s headlining act: B.J. Thomas. The man who took the song “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” to number one on the charts will take the Main Stage at 3:30 PM on Sunday, July 4th.
B.J. Thomas is just as vibrant and versatile today as he was when he recorded his first hit in 1967. Thomas has become one of the most recognized and respected voices of the American music landscape, with hits on the pop, country, and gospel charts. He is the only artist ever to have “Song of the Year” on the charts in all three music genres. With 15 top 40 pop hits, and 10 country hits, you’re sure to recognize many of his songs!
The Black Cat Blues Band will start the music rolling on this stage at 1:30 PM. The band's mix of finger snapping blues, big band swing, and soulful R&B makes them one of the hottest acts in our area. Oldies 106.9 hosts this stage.
This event would not be possible without the generous financial support of the following community-minded businesses: Gold Sponsors - Ausherman Homes, BB&T, Bechtel Foundation, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, and Sandy Spring Bank; Silver Sponsors - Bank One, CitiMortgage and The Frederick News-Post; Bronze Sponsors - Cellular One, Chessie Federal Credit Union and the Frederick Arts Council.
For a complete schedule of events, please see the June 24th edition of The Frederick Gazette newspaper. The City of Frederick has an ordinance that prohibits pets at this event.
