ROSEDALE
SUBDIVISION STREET LIGHT UPGRADES PROGRESSING
Frederick,
Md. --- At the February 19, 2004 Mayor and Board of
Aldermen Public Meeting the aldermen unanimously approved
funding Street Light Upgrades to the Rosedale Subdivision.
This older section of the City has an outdated lighting
system that has exceeded its life span. The outdated
system will be replaced with a multiple wire system,
replacing all wires and cables, as well as upgrading
the system from a 2400-volt system to a 240. The average
lifespan of the replacement lighting will be 30 years.
The
lights on Fairview Avenue are expected to be operational
by the end of this week at which time the Citys
contractor will backfill and seed affected areas along
Fairview that were disturbed during the lighting upgrades.
The City will begin work as early as June 7, 2004 on
Apple Avenue.
It
is estimated this project will be completed by December
31, 2004. In an effort to ensure public safety, the
Department of Public Works will make every effort to
have only one (1) phase off at a time each phase will
take 4 to 5 weeks to complete. A map of the project
phasing is online, www.cityoffrederick.com.
