KICKS OFF 2004 SUMMERFEST FAMILY THEATER SERIES

This year’s Summerfest Family Theatre series hops into action Saturday, July 10th with an appearance by Flumpa and Friends LIVE! The award winning, interactive, musical science performance begins at 7:00 p.m. in Frederick’s Baker Park with an opening act by Singing Hands.

Flumpa, the adventurous tree frog, and Wendy, the singing scientist, have fun down to a science with Flumpa and Friends LIVE! Everyone will be jumping at this innovative family show filled with multi-award-winning music and an abundance of audience participation. Flumpa, the wide-eyed adventurer, and Wendy will have everyone spinning, traveling on a rainbow, flying through space, cheering their favorite reptiles and amphibians, stompin’ through swamps, and hopping like frogs! Full of energy and fun, this interactive show will blast off at the speed of sound delivering a unique blend of rock, jazz, swing, and hip-hop with a twist of science for a captivating exploration of our Earth and the universe beyond.

Flumpa and Friends LIVE! is the recipient of fifteen national awards including Parents’ Choice Awards, Parent Council “Outstanding” recognitions, Dr. Toy Best 100 for 1998 and 2000, National Parenting Center Seals of Approval, Parent’s Guide to Children’s Media selections, and the Film Advisory Board “Award of Excellence.” The multi-award winning group has also performed at the White House and over 1,850 events nationwide!

Wendy Whitten, the force behind Flumpa and Ion Imagination Entertainment, Inc., which produces Flumpa shows, created Flumpa at the age of seven to entertain her younger brother, and her imaginative creation for her audience of one has grown into a book series and an educational musical series that entertain audiences of thousands.
