THE COOL JERKS TO PERFORM SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
SUNDAY, AUGUST 1st

The Cool Jerks hail from Frederick and are scheduled to perform this Sunday evening, August 1st, at the Baker Park bandshell beginning at 7pm. A favorite on the local music scene, Frederick’s own high energy R&B band has been together for over 20 years. In fact, you might recognize father and son saxophone players Al and Troy Remsburg. Joining them are John Sharrer, Andy Chrisler, Don Schattenberg, Mike Sheer, Bill Gentry, Wayne Ausherman, Steve Kemp and Kenny Fischer.
The Cool Jerks impromptu style of music keeps the energy alive amongst band members and fans thrive upon their unpredictability. Audiences never seem to want the band to quit. A few special guests will join the band this weekend. If you feel like dancing, don’t miss this show!
Make sure you come early for the carillon concert that begins at 6:30 PM. Frederick’s carillon is one of only two in the state. The carillon recital features a guest artist from across the country.
While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission to each performance. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank.
The 2004 Summer Concert Series is a sub-committee of Cultural Events for Educating Frederick, Inc., who is supported financially by the following community-minded businesses: Gold Sponsors -Ausherman Homes a Drees Homes Company, BB&T, Bechtel Foundation, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, and Sandy Spring Bank; Silver Sponsors - Bank One, CitiMortgage, and The Frederick News-Post; Bronze Sponsors - Cellular One, Chessie Federal Credit Union, and the Frederick Arts Council.
