DR. STRANGELOVE AND THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN FILMS APPEARING ON-SCREEN AT THE WEINBERG CENTER

 

Frederick, Md. --- The Weinberg Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Dr. Strangelove and The Pink Panther Strikes Again films will be showing in January.

 

Dr. Strangelove will be showing January 16, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. This film is a black comedy about the Cold War, U.S. Air Force General Jack Ripper sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R., the Soviet ambassador warns the President that should the U.S.S.R. be bombed, it will trigger a “Doomsday Device” that will kill all plant and animal life on Earth. Peter Sellers plays three different characters in this film; all his characters are trying to deter this tragedy to occur.

 

The Pink Panther Strikes Again will be showing January 23, 2004 at 7:30 p.m.  This film is the fourth film of the long-running series about clumsy Inspector Jacques Clouseau's and long-suffering boss Dreyfus.  Dreyfus has finally had a nervous breakdown due to the inspector and is being hospitalized in an asylum, while in the asylum Inspector Clouseau has taken on the role of the chief of police. Dreyfus escapes from the asylum with one goal, the destruction of Inspector Clouseau. Sellers plays the ill fated detective in this film
