NORTH
MARKET STREET NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS
TRAFFIC CALMING SCENARIO
Frederick,
Md. --- The City of Frederick is holding a neighborhood
meeting for the residents of North Market Street to
discuss the outcome of a December Streets and Sanitation
Committee Meeting regarding traffic calming scenarios
for North Market Street, between 7th and 9th Streets.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 14,
at 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of Gov. Thomas Johnson High
School.
Members
of the community are encouraged to attend and provide
feedback and suggestions to the scenario that received
approval for exploration at the Streets and Sanitation
Meeting.
The
scheme to be discussed involves closing off the west
lane of North Market Street with a combination of parallel
and diagonal parking, as well as providing neutral striping,
signing and planters to define the travel lane. The
combination of these elements will narrow the travel
lane and provide interest for the motorist thereby providing
traffic calming.
