SATELLITE
PARKING SHUTTLE BUS TO BE ON DISPLAY AT CITY HALL
Frederick,
Md.--- Prior to Wednesday's Mayor and Board of Aldermen
Workshop, elected officials and citizens are encouraged
to tour one of the shuttle buses that will be in use
this spring when the City of Frederick launches its
Satellite Parking and Shuttle System. The bus will be
on display beginning at 1 p.m., on Council Street (the
north side of City Hall). At 2 p.m., the Mayor and Board
of Aldermen will receive an update from the Satellite
Parking Task Force on the status of implementation and
proposed schedule. The public is encouraged to tour
the shuttle bus and provide citizen comment on the subject
at Workshop.
The
satellite parking lot and shuttle are a part of the
comprehensive downtown parking plan which includes the
construction of a 4th parking garage, increases in parking
rates as well as fines and changes in some regulations,
such as restrictions in parking around Baker Park.
Elements
of the Proposed Satellite Parking & Shuttle Service
· FREE parking and shuttle rides
· Park at Harry Grove Stadium
· Provides a convenient alternative for long-term
parkers who do not need the frequent use of their car
during the day
· Planned to operate between 6:30 a.m. to 6:30
p.m. weekdays
· Shuttle service every 10 minutes during peak
hours and every 20-30 minutes during off peak
· Designated drop off and pick up locations
