ROAD CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN ON 100 BLOCK OF WEST PATRICK STREET

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised of pending road construction along the 100 block of West Patrick Street to begin the last week of August, and to continue into the first week of November.

City staff and contractors will be replacing deteriorated water mains along West Patrick and South Court Streets. The project will improve water pressure for new construction in the downtown district, improve water quality and provide the ability to convey larger quantities of water from the Potomac River.

Traffic patterns will be modified throughout the construction process with one lane of vehicular traffic permitted from 7:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. and two lanes of vehicular traffic permitted between 8:00p.m. to 7:00a.m. Works is scheduled for Monday through Friday, and will only occur on Saturdays or Sundays in case of emergency. No parking will be available in the 100 block of West Patrick Street during the construction process. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on both sides of the street at all times.

Construction equipment will be operating during this 13-hour timeframe, so expect noise, light dust and activity. Water users may experience short interruptions in water service while mains are tied in. Also, water users may experience visible sediment in water supply during main change-overs; please run faucets to clear sediment.

For more information, please contact Marc Stachowski, project manager, City of Frederick at
