BOOKS ARE A BLAST ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 7TH
AT SUMMERFEST FAMILY THEATRE

Come explore the fun of reading during a show that’s sure to leave you laughing on Saturday, August 7th at Frederick’s Baker Park bandshell. That’s when Tom Lilly and Beowulf T. Wonderbunny bring their show “Books are a Blast” to this year’s Summerfest Family Theatre series. The show, which features magic, juggling, fire-eating and balloonacy, starts at 7 PM.
Magician Tom Lilly is one of the featured performers on the family stage at the Baltimore City Fair and at Cloisters Children’s Museum. Books Are A Blast is the show Tom designed to tour libraries throughout the mid-Atlantic. Combining magic and Tom’s keen interest in reading, the show has introduced thousands of children to the world’s fastest bookworms, Tom’s take on Lady Liberty and Uncle Sammy, Seemore the Psychic Snake, and Beowulf T. Wonderbunny appearing in his very own bookmobile. The Frederick Public Library’s own Dewey Decimal Dancers and Sneaks the Cat will also be on hand as the opening act.
