The Mayor's Office is very pleased to introduce Sarah Finefrock in the newly created position of Community Outreach Assistant. Sarah will focus on working with the Neighborhood Advisory Councils to get the program up and running. As part of this initiative she'll be working with community leaders to develop projects, support community initiatives, be an advocate for neighborhoods, and improve communications between the community and the City.

Sarah will also lead the Frederick 101 citizens awareness program, which will be starting it's third session on September 23, 2003. Interestingly enough, Sarah participated in the inaugural session of Frederick 101 in Fall 2002.

Prior to joining the City of Frederick, Sarah had a one-year assignment as an Americorps VISTA Volunteer with Volunteer Frederick after graduating from the University of Hawaii in 2001. In this capacity she worked with non-profit organizations to building volunteer support systems and assisted in such noteworthy projects as the "Emergency Kits" for homebound senior citizens.
