MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN SPECIAL MEETING SCHEDULED DUE TO PATH OF HURRICANE ISABEL

Frederick, Md. --- Please note that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen will hold a Special Meeting after the regularly scheduled Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshop on Wednesday, September 17. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting that was scheduled for Thursday, September 18, at 7 p.m., has been cancelled due to potential for severe weather related to Hurricane Isabel.

Agendas are as follows:

· Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshop, 2 p.m., City Hall Board Room. Agenda items include: Update on Sites B&C, and Discussion of Taxicab Ordinance and Staff Responsibility. Broadcast live on Channel 99!

· Mayor and Board of Aldermen Special Meeting, following 2 p.m. Workshop, City Hall Board Room. Agenda items include: Public hearing to receive comments on the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the 2002 Grant Year - July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003, A letter of support for Homes for America's application to Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for low income housing tax credit and the City's intent to approve a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) for the project, A First Amendment to Maryland Affordable Housing Trust Grant No. 1607 in order to extend grant period through November 30, 2003 as recommended by Mike Spurrier, Award of a Contract to Mueller Associates, Inc. in the amount of $100,000 to design new HVAC system for Weinberg Center for the Arts and to act as City's project manager for installation, Staff's recommendation for a Site D developer and permission for staff to enter into negotiations for a contract of sale with selected developer, A Special Ordinance to amend the Budget of The City of Frederick for Fiscal Year July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004 by amending the General Fund to include revenues and expenditures in the amount of $770,000 for the purpose of completing the sale of Site C, A Resolution to amend The City of Frederick Purchasing Guidelines to grant authority to the Project Manager, in combination with the Mayor, to approve change orders costing up to 10 percent of a contract (PULLED), A Resolution for the purposes of amending The City of Frederick Personnel Policies and Procedures to add a policy on Shift Differential, An Agreement between the City of Frederick, Frederick Brick Works, Inc., and the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) for use and regulation of a proposed SHA stormwater pond on Frederick Brick Works property (PULLED), Award of Contract to Ryan and Associates, lowest bidder, at a cost not to exceed $492,000.00 for RFP #03-T, Rock Creek Sewer Interceptor Project (CIP #370001), An Ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance of The City of Frederick in Section 5 entitled Special Exceptions by amending Subsection 5.04(16) concerning special exceptions for trade schools , A Resolution for the Purpose of Supporting the Public Art Guidelines, and Appointments.
