SPILLER
JOINS CITY AS TRAFFIC ENGINEER
Frederick,
Md. --- The City of Frederick Engineering, Permits and
Inspections Department is pleased to announce that Mr.
Neil Spiller has joined the staff as the new Manager
of Traffic Engineering. Spiller has spent the last 12
years as the Section Head of Traffic and Transportation
Planning, Frederick County Department of Public Works,
and brings with him an immediate knowledge of the City's
and County's streets and traffic concerns. He also has
over six years of private consulting experience with
a traffic engineering firm in Washington, D.C.
As
the City's Manager of Traffic Engineering, Spriller
will spend his day-to-day time as a traffic engineer,
as well as addressing citizen concerns. He will also
chair of the City's newly formed Traffic Safety Committee.
This committee is charged with coordinating larger traffic
issues as necessary with the Planning Department, Police
Department and Department of Public Works.
Paul
Lee, director of engineering for the City of Frederick,
introduced Spiller this morning at Mayor Dougherty's
weekly news conference. Lee stated, "We are excited
to have Neil join our staff and are confident he will
be instrumental in solving the City's traffic problems."
Lee also added that Spiller's pre-existing familiarity
with the City, County and State Highway Administration
will be an invaluable asset.
Spiller
is married, with three children. He resides in Silver
Spring, Md.
